Meet Dr. James Morris Jr

Dr. Morris grew up in Mesa, Arizona, and completed his undergraduate education at Arizona State University. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health on a United States Navy scholarship.

Following dental school in 2011, he completed a General Practice Residency at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton in California before serving in operational and shore-duty roles as a general dentist. In 2016, he limited his practice to endodontics and began specialty residency at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed residency in 2018 and returned to active duty as an endodontist serving sailors and Marines.

In November 2019, Dr. Morris completed board certification and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. From 2020 through 2023, he served on faculty at the U.S. Navy’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency, training general dentists in endodontics for independent duty and delivering continuing education to clinicians across the Department of Defense, while maintaining a full patient-care schedule.

After twelve years of active duty, Dr. Morris transitioned from the U.S. Navy in 2023 to pursue private practice in North County San Diego. He resides in the area with his wife, Crystal, and their five children, and the family enjoys sports and outdoor activities together.
